CNUSD Attendance Policy requires schools to notify parents when their child has:
TRUANCIES: Tardiness of 30 minutes or more or absence without communication from parent to the school
3 TRUANCIES - District sends a letter to parent
4 TRUANCIES - District sends a letter to parent
5 TRUANCIES - District sends a letter to parent and the school is mandated to hold School Attendance Review Team (SART) meeting with parent
ATTENDANCE EVENTS: INCLUDES EXCUSED ABSENCES, UNEXCUSED ABSENCES, TARDIES, PULLED EARLY FROM SCHOOL, TRUANCIES
7 absence events - letter to parent
10 absence events - second letter to parent
15 absence events - letter to parent and School Attendance Review Team meeting with parent
More absences - potentially set for School Attendance Review Board hearing. Parent is summoned to a hearing with CNUSD District Administrator, District Nurse, Department of Social Services Child Protective Services worker, Law Enforcement representative and possible District Attorney's Office representative.
Transfer students may also have their transfers denied due to attendance issues.
Students need to attend school to learn and be successful.
